After working as a photographer all over the world Matilda moved back to Somerset and spent a year documenting the area she grew up in.
A book is available which includes images and text on industry’s synonymous with the Somerset Levels, such as cider and cheese, elvers, floods and withies. It also looks at the new industries and the unusual non conformist communities across the levels. Finally the rapid rural urbanisation of our towns and the dying peat industry are featured.
The book PDF and a selection of images are available from Matilda’s website – http://www.matildatemperley.com/3626419-store
The images are also currently being exhibited at the Rural Life Museum until June.
